Interview: Miss Peach

(April 2022)

They're based in Segovia, a place I've always wanted to visit because it has a really big aqueduct. Miss Peach mainly works on editorial illustrations, like this recent one for a Financial Times piece about crypto, but we also chatted about personal projects, including a commission celebrating St Jordi's Day (St George's Day) in Barcelona, also known as Lovers' Day.

What have you enjoyed working on lately?
Lately I've really enjoyed doing personal projects for the portfolio and one of them is a work for advertising, a series of posters about Sant Jordi's day related to LGTBI in Barcelona. I've really enjoyed it.

Is there a particular tool you like to work with a lot?

I have found that I really enjoy making murals, hand painting, it relaxes me and I concentrate on what I am doing.

Also working with procreate on the iPad because if you have a small one you can draw from wherever you want, it's wonderful.

My name is Andrea but my artistic name is Miss Peach, and I live in Segovia in Spain. My work has a narrative, graphic and illustrative style, I always base my work on stories. My work is full of concepts and meaning.

As I say: if an illustration doesn't tell you anything it doesn't catch your attention, the illustration has to tell you something.

I tend to work mainly on editorial commissions, but I have also created murals and T-shirts. Now I'm researching the world of advertising, which is also very interesting when it comes to selling a product with illustrations.

Are there any skills or techniques you'd like to develop?

I would love to develop the ability to say NO, especially if it is necessary for mental health.

If you could have a magical power, what would it be?

I would love to have the power to be more organized and complete everything I propose to myself, I need a lot of energy to get up early!
